the environmental problems and its main influencing factors along the coast of Guangdong province was discussed. The results indicate that red soil environment in the coast had 3 important problems

which were soil degradation and pollution

soil erosion and soil hazard

the main influencing factors were the physical and chemical properties and mineral composition of red soil

climate and meteorologic changes and man made activities. The human activity was result in deterioration in red soil environment today.
