In Three Gorges area

we adopted level terrace and asigned contour hedgerows

namely applying agroforestry management since 2000. By observing the amounts of sediment and runoff and analyzing the soil fertility

we can conclude that this technique could improve soil physical properties

increase soil hole capacities

reduce soil bulk density and reduce soil and water losses. So

this technique is worth developing in Three George Area.
